KOONUNG HEIGHTS CRICKET CLUB Lead Coach - Female Cricket Programme Season 2024/25

Position Description


The Koonung Heights Cricket Club (KHCC) is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced cricket coach to lead the Club’s female cricket programme for the 2024/25 season and beyond. KHCC is a proud, boutique family club established in 1962/63 based at

Greythorn Park in Balwyn North. The club inspires and supports all players, male and female from all backgrounds within to come together and enjoy the game of cricket.

This newly created coaching role will oversee the coaching and development of the club’s senior women’s and junior girls’ teams with a focus on inclusion, participation and development in line with the club’s strategic plan and objectives.


Role Scope


• Coach of the KHCC 1st XI Senior Female Team.

• Lead Coach of the KHCC Junior Female Team(s) – with option to bring in assistant coaches as necessary, depending on squad numbers

• Responsibility for overseeing the entire female training program for Season 2024/25, including pre-season.

• Develop a cricket programme that will improve player skills and create an inclusive and fun environment for all ages and abilities.

• Co-ordination of school/community engagement e.g. Come and Try Days

• Take a leading role in all training sessions and game days.

• Educate players in all aspects of cricket on and off the field.

• Liaise closely with the KHCC Committee and Head Coach to align with our club strategy, culture and objectives.


Key Selection Criteria


• A proficient level of playing and/or coaching experience.

• Good communication skills with different age groups and members of the club to promote a supportive environment centred on inclusivity and transparency.

• Excellent organisation, planning & time management skills.

• A passion for the game of cricket.

• An enthusiasm for developing individuals, as well as building successful teams.

• Strong alignment with KHCC’s club values and culture

• Playing and non-playing applicants are welcomed.

• Applicants must be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check / Police Check.


Our KHCC 1ˢᵗ XI Women’s team compete strongly in the EGWC Senior A Grade competition, having finished season 2023/24 as grand finalists following many consecutive years of finals appearances.

Furthermore the club has a junior girls team made up of 10-15 year old

cricketers competing weekly in the Junior section of the EGWC, of whom we intend to invest further in and develop through to senior cricket.

We are proud to share that so far KHCC’s female cricket program has produced three

cricketers to reach regular selection in the Senior 1ˢᵗ XI Premier Women’s Team at Box Hill Cricket Club, with two of these players going on to achieve state honours by representing Victoria at the underage level.

As such, this is an excellent opportunity to make a lasting impact by driving an already strong female cricket programme to the next level of growth and success.
